Religious education classes for children not enrolled at St. Charles School in preschool and kindergarten are held on Sunday mornings. Elementary and middle school classes meet for four Saturday mornings throughout the year and for one full week in the summer.
Our goal is to work with families to educate children in the Catholic faith and to encourage the children to have a living faith marked by active participation in the life of the Church. Since the family is the first place where faith is learned, lived, and interpreted, we feel that it is out role to assist parents in their role as catechists through liturgical celebrations and programs of systematic catechesis. Together with the family, we form a partnership in the responsibility of forming children in the four pillars of the Catholic faith: Creed, Holy Sacraments, Christian life, and prayer.
Sacramental preparation for First Communion and First Reconciliation takes place in conjunction with the religious education classes and with St. Charles School's religion program. It is a two-year process that begins one full year prior to the year in which your child receives the sacraments.
The elementary/middle school catechist meetings take
place once a month, usually on the first Wednesday, and
begin at 6:15 p.m.
