Text Box: Director’s Message

Spring is right around the corner, and with it will come some rejuvenation at St. Charles Daycare. The staff will be doing spring cleaning, hoping to clear out some of the old storage nooks and crannies that have been unexplored for years.

There will also be some need for parent volunteers on a few projects. The infant room and one of our expansion rooms needs a fresh coat of paint. There are a few touch up areas as well that need some attention. I am also hoping to have a some specialty painting done along the main hallway.

The second project is the installation of rubber playground pavers over the concrete path in the toddler playground.

Stay tuned for dates for these projects, and thanks in advance if you can donate your time and energy.

Daycare Expansion

The daycare is building its enrollment back to the necessary levels. Once we have reached our goal, then the parish leadership will once again look at my request to open a walkers age room and splitting the 2/3 classroom into two different groups.

Text Box: They Said It…

As Grady was being picked up one day, Miss Anna asked for a hug. After giving her a hug, she asked for a kiss. He said, “Kissing is sissy stuff.”

Chelsey and James were on the playground, discussing a nest in a tree. James said it was a bird’s nest. Chelsey said it was a squirrel’s nest. James said it was a guinea pig nest. Chelsey replied, “That’s silly, guinea pigs do not live in nests, they live in boxes.”

———

On the playground one day, Bob, the parish maintenance manager was driving his truck past the playground. As is his habit he drives slow so the kids can wave and yell to him. Grady called out to Bob.

“Why are you driving your truck?”

“Because I did not want to walk.”

“Why are you not driving your car?”

“It’s my wife’s car and she does not want me to drive it. She is kind of mean.”

Without a moment’s hesitation, Grady replied “You should get her some flowers.”
