Curriculum and Grades
The foreign language curriculum at St. Charles is designed for students to complete both first year French and Spanish at the high school level. Students who are successful in their language of choice should be able to go right into the second year of that language. Of course, students must demonstrate proficiency in the chosen language. This program allows students to explore other languages besides the language they might choose.
Grades are determined by points. Students are graded on the following:
1. homework
2. daily vocabulary quizzes
3. textbook quizzes
4. vocabulary tests
5. oral presentations and performances
6. participation
7. extra credit-see extra credit handout
8. vocabulary cards
9. projects
All students should have a red folder for Spanish in which the students should have a Rules and Expectations sheet and a sheet explaining Extra Credit.
