Poetry Book Project

The following is a brief overview of the guidelines I gave to you in class.
Poems to include:
Your finished poetry book should include the following poetic elements:
2 onomatopoeia poems (8 lines minimum each)
2 alliteration poems (4 lines minimum each)
1 simile poems (4 lines minimum)
1 metaphor poems (4 lines minimum)
2 personification (inanimate object) poems (4 line minimum)
**As always, you may go over the minimum amount of lines :)**
Additionally, your book should include the following types of poems:
2 limerick poems
2 haiku poems
3 concrete poems
On the pages in your book, you should indicate what type of poem it is, ie., simile, preferably near the top of the page.
In summary, your finished book should include a total of 15 poems.
This project will be worth 75 points. The grading rubric follows:
15 correctly crafted poems 45 points (3 points each poem)
About the Author page 10 points
Cover/dedication page 10 points
Overall quality of book 10 points
**Note: There will be many opportunities to work on your poems and book in class.
LATE projects will result in a 10% grade reduction. If your project is late, the most points you could receive would be 67.5. (or 90%-B).
